The storyline is given 3 stars. The main character, Bright, was took weak. She is easily persuaded by others, namely her sister. Time and time again, Bright's sister gives her very bad advice. And Bright is either stupid or naïve enough to take that bad advice. For example, Bright's sister advised her to continually give her baby's father chance after chance because he doesn't physically abuse her. He doesn't keep a job, barely pays child support, will not spend time with his son, constantly breaks his son heart, and only comes around when he's horney. Bright's sister also advises her not to take her son's father to court for child support! She's advised, by her sister, to not get involved with Troy because he couldn't be serious about a relationship. The way she treated Troy was awful! Bright's actions made me ashamed to be an African American female. Unfortunately I was unable to get a refund!
A woman's worth is what Pastor Troy wanted out of his wife and also has to be a Christian. Bright wanted to do right by her son and try to work things out with his father but soon realized that he wasn't the man God intended for her. Once she decided to go back to church and devote herself to God he saw fit to bless her with everything she was looking for. Troy knew his relationship was not the right one and in the end finally ending things with the wrong person who only wanted to use him for her selfish reasonings. I really enjoyed this book because God does answer your prayers
Bright listened to everyone but herself. Her behind was so dumb, gullible, and stupid that if those people that she listened too told her the moon was really made of green cheese, she would have gotten some crackers, wine and a knife and tried to get there to get a piece. Bright made me so angry because she was so desperate and horny that she let that no good behind Terrell jump in her bed any time. This book got on my nerves, one minute I am reading about Troy and the next I am reading about Bright. The part that got me was she was going to pray about it and wait on God. I guess she would wait on God to drop a man out of the sky and say "here you go". Troy was so sickeningly perfect, I felt like puking. Her family just wanted her to get married, it didn't matter to what. You can believe that in that conservative church, Troy lost some of his members. I am still trying to figure out why she called her negative sister and mom. They settled for a man that was worth less than nothing. By the way, Bright was a gold digger, pretending she wasn't. She screwed Terrell nasty whoring behind raw, and then became celibate with Troy. Nasty desperate hoe. This book was not only boring, it wasn't good. So many grammatical errors
This actually was my first time reading a book from this author and I must say she did a really good job.. I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters can’t wait to see what’s next for this author.. Must read standalone
I would say this was a VERY different read for me but I really enjoyed it. This Christian Romance was an eye opener and also a learning lesson. It's so true when they say God might not be there when you want him but he is ALWAYS on time. Bright deserved everything that came her way all she needed to do is be patient and her blessings came in over flowing. This was my first time reading something from this author and I wouldn't mind reading more. I kinda wish it was maybe a 2 part series because I felt like more could have been said. Overall good read
