I'm very pleased with how this map looks. Poly coating for durability, but it's also a very attractive map. My only complaint was that I couldn't see what the map looked like before I purchased it. I felt like it was a gamble a bit, so I'm primarily leaving a review so that people can see what the map looks like. Not tremendous photos but hopefully good enough to give an idea.The map shows the entire Yucatan and Quintana Roo states. 95% of Campeche is shown (Western boundary of map is just west of Ciudad de Carmen). It shows Belize in its entirety and the northern part of Guatemala. The last photo is from Google maps, but shows the approximate boundary of the map.I haven't field tested this map, but from first glance and for trip planning- so far I'm pleased and would recommend it.
Very clear and readable map. Not cluttered. However the disadvantage of that is lack of detail. Cancun and Merida inset maps only cover a small fraction of each city (and not in much detail).This may very well be "waterproof" but it is not laminated, it's just extremely nice paper (which is probably more water "resistant" than waterproof - but I'm not about to test it).This seems like a great, clear map for major road navigation (but forget any detail for cities, towns, villages). My primary interest was in having archeological ruins sites labeled and this map seems to be excellent for that.
I've used this map for 3 trips and it is as good as Yucatan maps get.Doesn't show all the roads and some aren't in the right place exactly.But hey this is Mexico....nothing is exactly right. Not much signage in Mexico, especially in the boonies.My review of this map is for the 2008 9th edition with Uxmal on the cover. They should remove it. This particular map should be better, it is the 11th edition, January 2016. Happy Trails!
The map is just the proper size, is water proof, and is 99% accurate compared to other recently printed maps of the Yucatan and the Mexican Guia Roji.
I would consider myself an international travel who frequently rents cars in destination countries. However, I would not consider myself an off-road enthusiast. Thankfully this map clearly distinguishes between major roads and others that get rough quickly.
We read that there aren't road maps at the airports or gas stations in the Yucatan so we took this map with us. Are we glad we did! We found it to be quite accurate and easy to read. The local road signs gave us fits but with this map we were always able to figure out what we had done wrong...where we were...and how to get back on track. Very durable construction!

This is more of a geographic-topo type of map, rather a traffic and driving map. However, there are so few roads in the Yucatan that it works out really well. I found it to be perfect because you could see the geographic and natural features so nicely. It is plasticized, so it's waterproof and really easy to fold up. I'd definitely purchase it again.
