The books are quite brief, but the quotations are enjoyable to read.Here, the focus is on General Robert E. Lee. There are quotations by Lee--and quotations about Lee by others, such as Stonewall Jackson, Jefferson Davis, and James Longstreet.Among Lee's quotations: "My loyalty to Virginia ought to take precedence over that which is due to the federal government." My husband is in the military and he uses examples from this book frequently, along with a lesson in history that corresponds and I also have given a copy of this book to my father-in-law. He is a civil war buff and he loved my husband's book. I highly recommend this book to historians, students and people who are just interested in the civil war and the heroes of the south.
Good but this book has been done many times, just not in one volume.
